With songs recognized by National Public Radio, Parent’s Choice Awards, and Parenting Magazine, Jim Dague’s approach to music, learning, and play as ScribbleMonster has earned him spots on television and radio (including five #1 hit songs on Sirius/XM’s Kids Place Live; producer, writer, and featured performer on Wimee’s Words as seen on PBS; and creator and host of The ScribbleShow and ScribbleMonster’s Field Trip Radio on satellite radio), as well as thousands of performances at libraries, schools, and other special events. ScribbleJim
Jim loves sharks. He also loves chocolate, even though he’s highly allergic to it. Most of all, Jim loves making music with his friends. Jim has been engaging kids in creative play and active learning for the last 20 years. He has the unique pleasure of sharing playtime with the children of every Chicago neighborhood, having presented as ScribbleMonster at all 81 branches of the Chicago Public Library. He is also a featured performer on the PBS show Wimee's Words. Jim continues to be inspired by the energy, creativity and openness of his young audiences, especially early childhood and special needs.
ScribbleMonster
ScribbleMonster performs music for kids and families - across the Chicagoland area and well beyond - in the form of musical playdates. Jim Dague is the songwriter and leader of the ScribbleMonster band. He often performs solo as ScribbleJim. Jim sings and plays guitar - he has 12 different colors to chose from! When the band gathers for live shows, Jim is joined by Brian who plays bass and jumps around, Jameson who bangs on drums and supplies a lot of energy, and sometimes Elaina who sings and models play.
ScribbleBooks
Our mission at The ScribbleBooks Company is to foster learning through creative expression in art, thought, music and play. We're advocates of limited screen time, so shut off your technology and go draw for a while! Or read. Or sing. Or dance. Or write. Or build. Or play. Or paint. Or color. Or listen to music. Or play music. You get the idea. Remember, if you must watch a television show, be sure to watch Wimee’s Words on PBS!
